Before joining Kubes Law Office, PLLC as special counsel, Mary was a shareholder at Stinson Leonard Street (formerly Leonard Street and Deinard) for many years where she chaired the firm’s Construction Law Practice Group and served on the firm’s Board of Directors.
Mary is a past president of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Construction Law Section, has been named a Super Lawyer in Construction and Surety Law and was named a “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation. The Minnesota Justice Foundation recognized Mary for her outstanding pro bono work on behalf of Hmong women.
For the past several years, Mary served as Career Clerk to federal Magistrate Judge Janie S. Mayeron (District of Minnesota), where she worked on hundreds of civil matters touching on thorny legal issues bearing on jurisdiction, federal procedure, patent and trademark infringement and anti-trust.
In addition to practicing law, Mary owns a small organic orchard in Western Wisconsin, where she grows antique and “lost” varieties of apples, pears and plums and keeps honeybees. She is an accomplished cider maker and prides herself on bringing the same level of care and detail to the orchard that she brings to her legal work.
